What is Rockets?

Rockets is a Recreational Team!  This program is offered to students in High Beginner and Intermediate.  The Rockets learn and perform the Level 3 USAG routines.  They meet twice weekly for 1.5 hours each practice.   Practice is on Tuesday and Friday from 6:30-8:00 pm.

What are the benefits of joining Rockets?

Rockets is designed for those students who want more out of gymnastics than a recreational class.  It is a team.  The girls learn how to work together, how to set goals, and how to have fun while getting stronger and more flexible.  They have a team leotard for exhibitions and competitions.  They have a team “mailbox” for U.G.I. correspondence.  They have the opportunity to compete in meets as part of the Greater Columbus Gymnastics League.

What are the costs?

Tuition is paid on a monthly basis.  Tuition cost is $134.00 and is due before the first of the month.  The yearly (June-June) activity fee is $75.00 and will be prorated based on when you join.  The team uniform (leotard and warm-up) is $109.00.  Meet entry fees are usually $35.00 (the Championship Meet is $45.00).

What are the competitions like?

The Rockets compete in a local recreational league.  Each girl performs all four Olympic Events (vault, bars, beam, and floor) and receives a score and a corresponding achievement ribbon for each event.  In other words, the color of the ribbon is determined by the score from the judge.  All judges will be certified and rated.  In leui of all-around or team awards, the participants receive a goodie bag/gift from the host gymnastics club.  Each student can progress at her own pace.  The season culminates with a Championship Meet (April 26, 2008).  Placement awards (medals and a trophy) will be given at the Championship Meet.

How long is the commitment?

I would like for the commitment to be for a season.  Currently, I would like to see the Rockets who join in the Winter session to stay with the program through the end of the school year.

What if we miss a class?

You may make-up in any High Beginner class that has space available.  Please schedule make-ups with the office as you currently do.

If you have further questions concerning the Rockets program, please leave your name, phone number, and the best time to call with a secretary and Susan will contact you.

What is Jets?

Jets is a Recreational Team!  This program is offered to students in  Intermediate and Advanced.  The novice Jets learn and perform the Level 4 USAG routines and the experienced Jets create their own routines and perform at the Prep-Optional Level.  They meet twice weekly for 3.0 hours each practice.   Practice is on Monday and Thursday from 6:00-9:00 pm.
